Sweet Tomato was created in 1985 after I met a group of clowns from the Royal Order of Moose Lodge 17, in Indianapolis. It looked like so much fun that I asked for an application to join them. Since then, my life has never been the same! I clowned with them for some time. During that time I started to do a birthday party here and there and then when Indianapolis' Union Station was reopened as a Festival Market Place, with roving entertainers, I was lucky enough to be chosen to work there. That was one of the most exciting things I was ever chosen to participate in.

In 1987 I left my job with the church and became a full time clown. Another one of the exciting things I have been involved in was the Indianapolis 500 Festival Parade. I have also participated in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Indianapolis every year since 1985. Sweet Tomato and Tommy look forward to being Lepreclowns for the day!

I am also on the planning committee for Clown Day at the Indiana State Fair.
We have a special day at the fair and clowns come for a day of entertaining the children and having fun. We began clown day at the fair in 1997.

In 1994 and 2001, I participated in parades at Disney World in Orlando along with hundreds of other clowns from the World Clown Association, of which I am a member. Another exciting trip was to England in March of 95 for the World Clown Convention in Southport England. We visited in London on the way to Southport.

I am a member of Clowns of America International, International Brotherhood of Magicians, and Ring 10 Indianapolis IBM. I am one of the founding members of a group of clowns in Indianapolis. I Love Indy and a Clown was formed in 1994 by Dimples, Buttons and Sweet Tomato as a sharing and caring group of clowns. We now have a membership of over 50 clowns and meet once a month in Greenwood, Indiana. Our darling Dimples passed away in 2001 and Buttons moved to Florida shortly after. I have plenty of help in keeping the group going. We do have great times together.

My specialty is balloon sculpturing. I have received national and world wide awards in this art, one of which was the silver medal at the convention in England. In addition to the balloons, magic, face painting, story telling, and music and dancing are all a part of my repertoire.

As Sweet Tomato, I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with the Indiana Pacers. Back in 1994 they called and asked if I could blow up 1,000 balloons and deliver them to Market Square Arena before each of the play off games. Since then I have worked at all of their home games, and have blown up over a half million balloons for them alone! In addition to their games, the Pacers call on me to entertain at special occasions, such as pre game parties and open events. I've even entertained at some private parties for the team. In addition to the Pacers, I do balloons and clown for the Indiana Fever - the WNBA team.
